The majority of my scholarly endeavors have been in the area of creative scholarship; however, a secondary area of scholarly inquiry is in the area of the impact Blacks have had on the textiles and clothing industry.  This research has ranged from narrative analysis of slaves narratives written by African American women to investigation into the complexities of the U.S. textile industry and U.S. chattel system to exploring the textile works for George Washington Carver.
